India Post GDS Recruitment 2026: भारतीय डाक विभाग ने ग्रामीण डाक सेवक (GDS) के पदों पर भर्ती के लिए GDS Online Engagement Schedule-II, July-2026 का नया notification जारी कर दिया है। इस भर्ती में Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) और Dak Sevak के पद शामिल हैं।
Department of Posts के official GDS portal के अनुसार One-Time Registration 31 अगस्त 2026 से शुरू होकर 19 सितंबर 2026 शाम 5:00 बजे तक चलेगा। वहीं online application submission और applicable fee payment की प्रक्रिया 2 सितंबर 2026 से 21 सितंबर 2026 शाम 5:00 बजे तक चलेगी। इसके बाद application correction/editing के लिए 23 और 24 सितंबर 2026 का window दिया गया है।

GDS में कौन-कौन से पद शामिल हैं?
इस recruitment में मुख्य रूप से तीन प्रकार के पद हैं:
1. Branch Postmaster — BPM
BPM Branch Post Office के day-to-day postal operations के लिए जिम्मेदार होता है। इसके अलावा India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) से संबंधित कार्य, postal products और services की marketing तथा customer service centre से जुड़े कार्य भी BPM के कार्यक्षेत्र में आते हैं।
कुछ परिस्थितियों में BPM को mail conveyance और delivery से संबंधित जिम्मेदारियां भी संभालनी पड़ सकती हैं। चयनित BPM को Branch Post Office चलाने के लिए निर्धारित standards के अनुसार accommodation की व्यवस्था भी करनी होती है।
2. Assistant Branch Postmaster — ABPM
ABPM के कार्यों में stamps और stationery की बिक्री, mail conveyance तथा doorstep delivery, IPPB transactions और BPM की postal operations में सहायता जैसे कार्य शामिल हैं।
ABPM को आवश्यकता पड़ने पर BPM के combined duties भी करने पड़ सकते हैं।
3. Dak Sevak
Dak Sevak को Post Offices, Sorting Offices, Mail Offices, Transit Mail Offices, Delivery Centres आदि में लगाया जा सकता है।
इनके कार्यों में mail और parcels को handle करना, mail delivery, stamps/stationery से संबंधित कार्य, IPPB transactions और Post Office के अन्य assigned duties शामिल हो सकते हैं।
GDS Recruitment 2026 में कितनी salary मिलेगी?
GDS कर्मचारियों को regular Central Government employees के समान salary structure नहीं मिलता। Notification के अनुसार GDS को Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) के रूप में remuneration दिया जाता है।
BPM के लिए TRCA
₹12,000 से ₹29,380
ABPM / Dak Sevak के लिए TRCA
₹10,000 से ₹24,470
इसके अलावा GDS को नियमों के अनुसार Dearness Allowance तथा कुछ अन्य allowances और social security benefits भी मिलते हैं। Notification में TRCA में conditions के अधीन 3% annual increase का भी उल्लेख है।
ध्यान दें: GDS को Department of Posts ने regular Central Government employee नहीं माना है। उनकी service conditions GDS (Conduct and Engagement) Rules के अनुसार होती हैं।
GDS Recruitment 2026 की Age Limit
GDS के सभी posts के लिए notification में:
Minimum Age: 18 वर्ष
Maximum Age: 40 वर्ष
Age की गणना online application submission की अंतिम तारीख के आधार पर की जाएगी।

Educational Qualification क्या है?
GDS recruitment के लिए उम्मीदवार का 10वीं कक्षा (Secondary School Examination) पास होना आवश्यक है।
10वीं में:
- Mathematics
- English
में passing marks होना जरूरी है।
इसके अलावा candidate को संबंधित post के लिए निर्धारित local language को कम से कम 10वीं कक्षा तक पढ़ा होना चाहिए।
इसके साथ notification में:
- Computer knowledge
- Cycling knowledge
- Adequate means of livelihood
को भी आवश्यक qualification/condition के रूप में रखा गया है।
GDS Selection Process कैसे होगा?
GDS recruitment की सबसे महत्वपूर्ण बात यह है कि इसमें selection system-generated merit list के आधार पर किया जाता है।
Official notification के अनुसार merit list 10वीं कक्षा के marks के आधार पर तैयार की जाएगी और percentage को चार decimal places तक लिया जाएगा।
अर्थात सामान्य रूप से उम्मीदवार की 10वीं की performance selection में सबसे महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाती है।
क्या GDS Recruitment में written exam होगा?
इस notification के selection criteria के अनुसार shortlist 10वीं के marks से तैयार system-generated merit list के आधार पर होगी।
इसलिए उम्मीदवारों को किसी अलग written examination के बजाय अपने 10वीं के marks, documents और eligibility conditions पर विशेष ध्यान देना चाहिए।
Application Fee कितनी है?
Official notification के अनुसार applicable candidates के लिए application fee: ₹100
Fee से छूट
निम्न candidates को application fee से exemption दी गई है:
- सभी महिला उम्मीदवार
- SC/ST candidates
- PwBD candidates
- Transwomen candidates
Fee applicable होने पर payment online modes जैसे:
- Credit Card
- Debit Card
- Net Banking
- UPI
से की जा सकती है।

सबसे पहले उम्मीदवार को Department of Posts के official GDS portal पर जाना होगा।
